Let me tell you about the new cutter we have in the production room!
We got rid of the cutter that we previously had and upgraded to a new “high-tech” one. It’s pretty dope if I do say so myself. It is a lot more automated, and it is easier to make precise cuts with this new machine.
On the side, there is a little keypad where you can type in at what inch you need a cut made. All you have to do is type in the number, insert your paper (making sure that it is flush with the back so you do not get a diagonal cut) ((trust me, it has happened to me)), place a piece of card stock under your paper so that you get a clean cut, pull down the safety guard, and push down on the handles to cut! It’s as easy as that!
We are using this cutter to make the Portfolio Show booklets. We have a whole process in which way we need to cut the books, and which measurements to use for each cut. Us students have to be careful when cutting so we can hand out as many books as possible at the show!
It is super easy to learn if you ever use a cutter, so I hope you take my advice and my lessons taught to you, and put them to good use next time you need to chop up some papers!
