I got a really cool opportunity to do some client work! Not only did I work for a client using my design skills, but you can actually see my designs out in “the wild”, and it is super cool!
My dad owns the business “Obscure Brewing Company” and he asked me to make a label for a beer they are working on. The company did a collaboration with HyVee to create a barrel-aged beer. Now, I don’t know too much about beer since I am not of age yet, but it seemed like a really big project, so I knew that I could not fail Obscure or HyVee.
The beer name was called Snoozy, named after one of their employee’s: Luke. Luke has a big beard that they wanted incorporated on the label, so I made sure to incorporate that as part of the design. Other than that, they gave me lots of creative reign to make a label for their beer.
I picked on a yellow-gold color to go with the color of Luke’s beard, picked fonts that felt appropriate, and got the final design sent off to my dad. A few days later, I was told that my designs were finally showing up in the HyVee at Sycamore Avenue. I rushed over there to grab a few pictures and to look at the final product I had created.
It turned out amazing in my opinion, let me know what you think!
